thanks to everyone that stopped by the store today and participated in our treasure hunt!

there are still a couple items yet to be discovered, and i'll be putting a couple more stars on items tonight for those of you who want to come look tomorrow (saturday).

stars can be on anything you see for sale in the store...not just clothing!

i will say from today, though, that the clothing definitely went first. you guys picked that right up! if you're hoping to hunt down some clothing, the beginning of the day is your best bet for sure.

and that...is all the hinting i'm going to do. ;)

since we know how much panachers like free stuff (well, not just panachers. everyone), we decided to do a little treasure hunt this weekend...

on thursday night, we'll put these star stickers on a few items in the store.

it could be jeans, sale items, layering tops...anything!

if you stop by on friday or saturday (jan. 20/21) and find an item with a star on it (and you want it), it's free!

it's like winning a giveaway, but more like a treasure hunt.

this week was nuts. we got three huge shipments in, on top of a lot of stuff happening in my personal life. needless to say, i'm late posting this stuff and the pictures aren't fantastic--i just didn't have the time or energy to dress/undress/dress/undress the mannequins over and over again for each picture...so some tops are on hangers.

despite being wiped out, i'm totally excited for these shipments! i'm 100% thrilled with everything that came in.

i've got a new shipment to post but wanted to answer a few questions first!

i've gotten some emails and comments asking about ordering on-line and shipping. we don't have an e-commerce site or any way to order clothes directly off the internet. however, i do post everything we get on the blog here and i'd love to ship if you wanted to give something in our store a happy home! i ship using flat-rate boxes (1 top usually fits into a $5 box) and can take credit card information over the phone. i wish we had a more secure way to take your payment over the internet, but i promise i shred all of your information immediately after completing the transaction!

if you've driven byour store in the last week, you probably noticed that it's looking a little like this:

don't worry, though--

we're not leaving or going out of business or anything like that...quite the opposite, actually!

we're getting a brand-new, updated, classier store front and we couldn't be more excited about it. the front of the store is being pushed forward about 20 ft., so our entrance will be right on the sidewalk and more visible from the street. the whole building will have a more uniform look and i think you'll like it!

i'll keep you updated on here as construction continues.

you know my outfit inspirations? those posts i do with every new shipment?

since people who shop at panache are the cutest dressers around...

it's your turn to make one!

the giveaway/contest will work as follows:

1.) you'll choose any item from our "new shipments" posts -or- you can come into the store and take a picture of anything you'd like

2.) you'll create an outfit inspiration, just like the ones i do (except probably way better/more creative, because you guys are brilliant). you can see examples of how i've done outfit inspirations by clicking here.

3.) you'll email me the following:

a. the file containing one picture with all of the components of your outfit shown, and

b. all the details of the outfit (store, item name, color, price) in the body of the email

when i opened the box that had this jacket in it, stacy and darcy and i were joking that i should put together a total biker chick outfit...which i sort of ended up doing!

Outfit Inspiration: Striped Sweater

today's outfit inspiration is for the slouchy, striped cardigan we got in yesterday.

for some reason i really struggled putting this outfit together...i'm just trying to not be too repetitive with these inspirations! also, i feel like i've been using all the same stores in every post. i guess i'm loyal to shops i love :)

i immediately thought of putting together an outfit for a study date when i saw this sweater, and then when i saw this post by rebecca over at bird in a cage bride, i decided to incorporate some of those same colors into the outfit today, too.

i'm loving skinny black pants right now! i think they're edgy and sexy without being too obviously...you know...sexy. and how chic are they with flats?!

i love using very basic, simple main pieces for an outfit and then adding punches of color with accessories. and if that color is mustard yellow...even better!

we have some exciting changes happening to our storefront here at panache. you may have noticed while driving by that our awning and sign came down last week. the whole front of the building is being redone, so we'll have a new, updated, and classier look! we hope you'll be patient with any construction that will be going on in the meantime. you can bet that i'll be keeping you updated along the way with pictures and posts, as i'm very excited about these positive changes.

it's back to school with me, so i'll try to stay on top of this blog in addition to my studies! i hope everyone back in school is enjoying their classes and, of course, looking adorable while you go to them :)

cold weather legs

summer is coming to an end soon. i feel like it's gone by so fast and i'm sad about that, but at the same time, i'm EXCITED because that means it's time for my favorite season...fall! i love my fall clothing (and any recipe with pumpkin, but i'll save that for another post). lots of layering pieces: sweaters, boots, hats, etc. since i refuse to give up my skirts and dresses because the weather cools off, i've learned a few tricks for transitioning them into cool weather pieces. this transition basically makes tights my bff!

i've looked around the internet, trying to scope out some cute options while keeping a variety of price ranges in mind. here's what i found:

your warmth options here are mainly 1, 4, 6, and 7. how cozy does #6 look?! thicker knits (obviously) go great under boots or flats and skirts/dresses. i love using tights to add a pop of color (tights 3 & 7) since it's a bottom layer and doesn't scream "LOOK AT ME!" in the face of everyone you pass.

tights like numbers 5 and 8 are great for adding a feminine touch to a business or church outfit, like a pencil skirt and blouse.

i think 2 would be SO CUTE peeking out over the top of some brown boots (like the ones i mentioned here), even if you were wearing jeans! i think these are my favorites.

4 i mostly added in for fun -- i mean, those are little foxes all over those brown tights!! is that not the cutest thing you've ever seen? i can always count on anthropologie to give me the cutest option...and then make it waaaay out of my budget. :)

i've been all about my cowboy boots lately, so those were an automatic choice for this fun summer dress. i think the sweater makes it a good transition outfit for the fall season, too.
